Note to self - don't wait until 10:30 pm to draw... A few of the locals after their soccer game, playing pool and having a few beverages at the legion club room.
Not terribly original I know, but a few things happened over the holidays that got me thinking... first was a book my son got me for Christmas - a lovely little thing, full of drawings by a young man who over the course of a year drew people on his commute to and from wherever he was going. Then I signed up (again) for a weekly life-drawing class - something I picked up a couple of years ago, that I'd left alone for many (too many) years.
But what really got me thinking was a post on a friend's FB page - something like "if you want to discover your true passion, pay attention to where your mind goes when it wanders" - and ever since I read it have been wondering... if I'm honest, my mind tends to wander towards a nice glass of Chianti accompanied by some paté and soft cheese, but a long time ago that wasn't the case. I drew everything, everywhere, all the time... now it seems too much like work. So what if I tried this exercise... draw something - anything - every single day for one year. If I must post something here every day, might make me stick to it. So here goes... (first night of drawing class so this gets to be the first!) Well, not really, but I'm puttering around and sticking my nose into places I hadn't before... blogging is new to me (Luddite at heart) - not sure a website is really working so well for me, but seems like the thing to do if you have a business to operate... so will clomp around some more. If you're reading this, please drop me a line or two so I know I'm not drifting out to cybersea... maybe you can teach me something!
