Not terribly original I know, but a few things happened over the holidays that got me thinking... first was a book my son got me for Christmas - a lovely little thing, full of drawings by a young man who over the course of a year drew people on his commute to and from wherever he was going. Then I signed up (again) for a weekly life-drawing class - something I picked up a couple of years ago, that I'd left alone for many (too many) years.
But what really got me thinking was a post on a friend's FB page - something like "if you want to discover your true passion, pay attention to where your mind goes when it wanders" - and ever since I read it have been wondering... if I'm honest, my mind tends to wander towards a nice glass of Chianti accompanied by some paté and soft cheese, but a long time ago that wasn't the case. I drew everything, everywhere, all the time... now it seems too much like work. So what if I tried this exercise... draw something - anything - every single day for one year.
If I must post something here every day, might make me stick to it. So here goes... (first night of drawing class so this gets to be the first!)
